Goat Milk & Beeswax Sun Care - See Ya Sunburn!

We spent months working on these formulas, & (when applied liberally & often) have created two products worth sharing with our customers: See Ya Sunburn! Goat Milk Lotion & Salve Stick.

What do they do & how do they work?  Great questions!  These are our all natural alternatives to traditional sunscreen products.  We incorporate multiple ingredients with known UV blocking properties into our recipes, mainly leaning on the efficacy of non-nano Zinc Oxide.  When applied so that the white of the zinc is visible, & reapplied every 60-90 minutes to maintain that white appearance, you can enjoy time outside - even those of us in Arizona!  

Common questions:

Q:  Will this prevent sunburn if used alone?

A:  Not exactly.  This product is meant to be used in tandem with proper sun exposure precautions - hats, longs sleeves, etc.  Yes, it can provide protection from UV rays, & a lot of our customers have had great results using it as a stand-alone product (when used as directed), but it is not guaranteed to 100% prevent sunburns.

Q:  Will this block cancer-causing UV rays?

A:  No.  This is an all natural product & therefore does not contain the added chemicals in traditional sunscreen that are known to block those specific rays.

Q:  Is this waterproof?

A:  YES!  The Salve Stick is not only waterproof, but also reef safe.  The Goat Milk Lotion formula, however, is NOT waterproof & is intended for use when water will not be involved.

Q:  Is this safe for my baby?

A:  The Salve Stick is unscented, making it a great option for little ones.  It is not a tear-free formula though, so please be careful to avoid contact with eyes.  The Goat Milk Lotion does have fragrance oil added (slightly coconutty & tropical!), which might cause irritation when used on sensitive skin so we recommend using it on children 3+.

Q:  Is the lotion the same recipe as your other Goat Milk Lotions, but with Zinc Oxide added?

A:  Nope!  This is a completely new recipe, packed with ingredients known for their skin soothing & UV blocking properties, including:

   - Aloe Vera Juice (anti-inflammatory compounds calm irritation from heat & UV exposure, contains antioxidants like Vitamins C & E that help neutralize free radicals)

  - Carrot Seed Extract (packed with antioxidants like beta-carotene that help neutralize oxidative stress caused by sun exposure, & delivers helpful fatty acids that lock in hydration while you are outdoors, known UV blocking benefits)

   - Non-Nano Zinc Oxide (uses larger particles that stay completely on top of the skin. It provides immediate, broad-spectrum UV reflection, does not absorb into the body, & is safe for sensitive skin & coral reefs)

   - Shea Butter (rich in essential fatty acids which restore moisture stripped by wind, salt water, & sun exposure, known UV blocking benefits)

   - Coconut Oil (provides a base for natural moisturizing, contains antioxidants, known UVB blocking benefits)

   - Natural Arizona Beeswax (forms a protective, breathable shield that guards the skin without clogging pores, while locking in hydration & preventing the drying effects that sun & heat exposure can cause to the skin, binds oils & evenly holds non-nano zinc oxide particles in place for consistent coverage)

   - Rosemary Oleoresin (enhances the performance of UV filters in the recipe)

   - Vitamin E (neutralizes unstable free radicals generated by UV rays before they break down collagen, works synergistically alongside active SPF filters to reinforce overall cellular protection)

Q:  Aside from the addition of Non-Nano Zinc Oxide, hat is the difference between the Salve Stick & your other salves?

A:  Each salve has its own unique purpose.  This formula differs almost entirely from our other balms, containing ingredients known to soothe & block UV rays, including:

   - Coconut Oil (provides a base for natural moisturizing, contains antioxidants, known UVB blocking benefits)

   - Argan Oil (contains high levels of vitamin E & tocopherols, which neutralize free radicals caused by UV rays, repairs & comforts stressed skin due to outdoor exposure)

   - Kokum Butter (absorbs fast & stays non-greasy, which prevents clogged pores, contains natural vitamin E which helps fight environmental stress & free radicals from UV exposure)

   - Natural Arizona Beeswax (forms a protective, breathable shield that guards the skin without clogging pores, while locking in hydration & preventing the drying effects that sun & heat exposure can cause to the skin, binds oils & evenly holds non-nano zinc oxide particles in place for consistent coverage)

Q:  What do they smell like?  Do you have an unscented lotion option?

A:  We do not have an unscented lotion option, however our Salve Stick does not have any fragrance or essential oils added.  The Salve Stick has the slightly sweet smell of honey from the raw beeswax used in its creation, while the Goat Milk Lotion has notes of tropical fruits & florals for a perfect summer aroma!

Q:  What sizes are available?

A:  The Salve Stick comes in a 2oz tube.  The lotion is available in both an 8oz & 2oz plastic bottle with a disc top.
